Fourth suspect arrested over Jewish charity ambulance arson attack
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed the arrest of a fourth individual linked to the recent arson incident targeting ambulances operated by a Jewish charity in north London. This development follows the initial arrests of two men earlier in the week, who were released on bail pending further investigation.
On Saturday, the suspect was detained at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. A man was observed exiting the courthouse with police officers, though details about his role in the attack remain under review. The court was informed that four people were involved in the incident, with three of them appearing before the court that day.
The three suspects include Hamza Iqbal, 20, Rehan Khan, 19, and a 17-year-old boy holding dual British-Pakistani nationality. They have been charged with arson, intent to damage property, and recklessness toward potential harm to lives. Prosecutors emphasized the attack was a deliberate act aimed at the Jewish community.
“There is clear evidence this was a premeditated and targeted attack against the Jewish community,” stated a CPS representative during the court proceedings.
The incident, which occurred last week, has sparked ongoing legal action. The two men arrested initially are expected to return for questioning in late April. Further details about the fourth suspect’s involvement are anticipated as the case progresses.
