Steven Knight’s Oasis documentary covers ‘biggest musical event of 2025′

Steven Knight s Oasis documentary covers - The teaser trailer for Steven Knight’s Oasis documentary has promised a behind-the-scenes look at “one of the most anticipated rock ‘n’ roll comebacks of our time”.

Don’t Look Back In Anger, by the creator of Peaky Blinders , follows brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher as they undertake their Live ’25 tour, which kicked off a year ago in Cardiff.

A 46-second teaser trailer was released for the film on Saturday, which shows fans cheering the band before footage cuts to the brothers backstage at gigs getting ready for their first shows together since they split in 2009.

However, a voice-over of Noel then plays, in which he says: “I don’t see myself on stage with Liam…I just don’t see it.”

His brother then says that “the way it finished…unacceptable.”

As clips show them preparing for their shows, a reporter’s voice is heard saying: “Most thought it would never happen…and some still aren’t convinced.”

Shots of them on stage are then shown, with Liam declaring “it’s going to be chaos”.

Knight created the film, which was directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace.

Set to be released in Imax cinemas later this year and on Disney Plus, the streaming service has teased that it follows the Gallaghers’ “triumphant reunion tour”.

“Oasis Live ‘25, one of the most anticipated rock ‘n’ roll comebacks of our time,” it says.

“The film is an unapologetically uplifting account of the biggest musical event of 2025, capturing the experience and emotions of the band and their fans across the world.

“The unique perspective includes rehearsal, backstage, and onstage access as well as the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam in over 20 years.

“Alongside the band’s sold-out world tour, the film also explores the profound emotional impact of this phenomenal global cultural moment and what their music means to audiences and generations worldwide.”

Knight said: “The Oasis world tour united generations, cultures and countries and spoke to a broken world about reconciliation.

“Don’t Look Back In Anger is not only your ticket to the show – it’s a backstage pass and a seat at the table when Liam and Noel sit down together for the first time in 15 years and tell it how it is and how it was.”

Speaking backstage at the Brits in March, Noel said of the documentary: “I’ve only seen a tiny little bit of it and it’s difficult to have an opinion on it because I’m only looking at little snippets.”

The Oasis reunion tour was announced in August 2024, 15 years after their dramatic split in 2009, which was prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in France.

The band have had eight number one singles and albums each in the UK charts, with Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Some Might Say among their most well-known hits.

Don’t Look Back In Anger will open in select Imax cinemas in September, before streaming exclusively on Disney Plus internationally and on Hulu and Disney Plus in the US later this year.
