Woman raped by multiple men outside church following nightclub exit
A 20-something woman was sexually assaulted by several individuals outside a church in Epsom after leaving a Surrey nightclub. The attack occurred between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM on Saturday, according to police reports.
The incident took place near the Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road. Officers are currently working to identify the perpetrators, though they have not yet released full descriptions of the suspects. Investigations are ongoing, with teams prioritizing leads to build a clearer picture of the offenders.
“This is a deeply troubling event, and the victim is receiving support from specialized units,” stated Det Insp Aine Matthews. “Our inquiry is in its early stages, but we are accelerating efforts to gather details about those involved.”
Authorities are appealing to the public for information, specifically seeking anyone who may have seen or interacted with the woman during the timeframe. “Witnesses in the area between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM are vital to our case,” added Matthews.
