Family of 14 year old girl - The family of 14 year old girl Lilly Jones has issued a touching tribute following the discovery of her body in a South Wales park. The fourteen-year-old was found deceased in Duffryn Park near Blaina on June 22, just two days after her disappearance was reported to police. Her relatives described her as a beautiful person who brought joy to everyone around her.

A young boy, also fourteen years old, has been charged with murder in connection with Lilly's death. Legal restrictions prevent his identity from being revealed publicly. He is expected to stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court in November, where Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke has set the proceedings for November 23.

A Community United in Grief

On Thursday evening, the family of 14 year old girl released a heartfelt statement through Gwent Police, expressing how difficult this time has been for them. They explained that the word "heartbroken" does not fully convey the depth of their sorrow following this devastating loss.

We would prefer to concentrate on Lilly and the wonderful person she was, rather than the terrible circumstances she faced.

Relatives painted a picture of a vibrant young girl who was kind, caring, and completely authentic in her personality. They described her as quirky, confident, sassy, and dramatic—qualities that made her stand out among her peers. The family expressed deep gratitude for having the privilege to know her as their daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend.

Music was one of Lilly's greatest passions. Her eclectic taste ranged from My Chemical Romance to Kate Bush, and family members fondly remembered how she would unapologetically sing every word at the top of her voice, regardless of who might be listening. This love of music was just one aspect of her vibrant personality.

Lilly was known for her acceptance of all types of people. Her relatives noted that she always advocated for anyone who needed support, and they could write an entire book about her amazing nature. The family acknowledged that their loss has created an unimaginable void not only in their own lives but throughout the entire community.
