‘I thought my husband was cheating – the truth was far more devastating’
Anna and her husband James* had built a life together, navigating the demands of parenthood and work. Both were juggling responsibilities; James managed his own tattoo studio, while Anna handled part-time office tasks alongside caring for their two young children, whose constant energy turned their Midland home into a whirlwind of activity.

James finally confessed: he’d been seeing another woman for a year, and their relationship had led to an unplanned pregnancy. “He ruined everything. Our family was turned upside down,” Anna says, her anger still simmering. She packed his belongings, tossed them out, and demanded he leave.
Despite the fallout, Anna decided to give him a chance. “I told the kids daddy was going on a short holiday, and after I calmed down, he came back for a few days. We tried to adjust, but eventually, James moved out.”
